The Libertines To Release A New Album In 2015

Ten years ago The Libertines released their self-titled album, and according to NME, they will soon release a new album come 2015. Although The Libertines technically reunited in 2010 and played a couple of festivals, this time it’s for real; they recently played a huge show at London’s Hyde Park on July 5th along with two dates in June.

Carl Barat recently said that new music was “always” part of the plan since the reunion and “next year, it has to be,” when asked about the release date, “I don’t wanna just go on the road because then you’ll get cabin fever and have an epic fallout. So yeah, I want to keep something fresh coming in. We just need to find the time.”

Pete Doherty also added that the band will probably head to Germany in late 2014 to start the writing and recording process, “for some reason in my head, I’m thinking October, November time.” The Libertines still have 10 tour dates coming up, however unless you happen to live in Europe, you probably won’t be able to see this Brit Rock band until they tour their new album next year.
